National Disability Insurance Scheme
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is called the NDIS and was introduced in 2013. The scheme is overseen by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and allows individuals with a permanent and significant disability to access government funding.
The NDIS focuses on the person with a disability and provides them with the choice to decide where and how to use their funding. Supports can be across many areas including employment, allied health, accommodation, independence, being involved in outdoor activities, sport and community access.
Attendant Care Industry Association
The Attendant Care Industry Association (ACIA) Australia is the peak body for attendant care service providers operating across Australia. ACIA represents the non-government attendant care sector, including not-for-profit and private organisations. ACIA represents and supports service providers to deliver quality attendant care for the benefit of people with disability or those with complex or long-term care needs living in the community. ACIA’s primary focus on quality assurance and workforce capacity building aims to ensure the delivery of high quality, low risk attendant care services. ACIA’s objectives support the implementation of federal and state government policies aimed at enabling people to actively participate in society, achieve their person-centred goals, remain in their own homes and avoid unnecessary residential care.
Western Sydney Community Forum
Western Sydney Community Forum has been working with 18 community service workers across Greater Western Sydney since February 2013 through the CALD Worker Mentoring Project. As a professional development experience, the CALD Worker Mentoring Project, is providing a catalyst for community workers to focus their attention on how to cultivate their skills, build their abilities and ultimately the capacity and knowledge base of their organisations.
Carers NSW
Carers NSW is an association for relatives and friends caring for people with a disability, mental illness, drug or alcohol dependency, chronic condition, terminal illness or who are frail. We are the peak organisation for carers in NSW and the only statewide organisation that has carers as its primary focus. We are a non-government, non-profit, non-political organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act (NSW), governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are part of a national Network of Carers Associations and work collaboratively to lead change and action for carers.
My Aged Care
ADS Care have been an approved service provider with My Aged Care and we work closely with the department of health. Our work with the elderly and infirm is very extensive. Through our experienced and qualified staff we recognise the need for sensitive and person centred support.
icare
icare delivers insurance and care services to people with injuries under the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme, including Lifetime Care amongst others. icare assists people return to work. As an approved provider ADS Care support people with acquired and traumatic brain injuries.
National Disability Services
National Disability Services (NDS) is Australia’s peak body for non-government disability service organisations, representing over 1000 non-government service providers. Collectively, NDS members operate several thousand services for Australians with all types of disability.
