Disability Support Workers – Blacktown area Sydney

ADS Care provides support service for people with disabilities and the elderly, ranging from Personal Care, Domestic Assistance and Community Access. We are currently recruiting disability care workers for a specific participant who resides in the Blacktown area.

We require 2 – 4 Support workers to offer round the clock support to a participant in Blacktown area, aged 25yo. You must understand how to support someone with Autism level 3, Moderate Intellectual Disability and Anxiety.

Have experience of epilepsy management and administering midazolam.

Be competent in supporting participant with swimming activity and community access by own vehicle and public transport.

This position will be working within the home environment of the person being supported and flexible work hours are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide personal care, domestic support or respite care to the person.
• Ensure that quality service is being delivered to people being supported.
• Ensure that all ADS Care Policies and Procedures are complied with.
• Ensure that Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are adhered to.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in providing care to people with physical and intellectual needs.
• Experience working with people with challenging behaviours and/or high needs.
• Understanding and experience of working with people with a disability
• Functional level of English literacy and competency in documentation.
• III in Disability Services (or equivalent)
• Current Driver’s Licence (essential with fully comprehensive insurance)
• Fully insured car essential
• Current First Aid Certificate essential.
